Marcelinho Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Arruda having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Edson Sousa took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Duarte Linhares to make any attempt to save it. Angelo Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arlindo Mandrak in the 16th minute of the match. A collision led to Rondonopolis E. C. getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Evandro Zilles hit a great ball. Válter Palmeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duarte Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson Sousa in the 28th minute of play. After 29 minutes, Mathias Andrade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catuana and the Rondonopolis E. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rondonopolis E. C.'s Márcio de Toledo was substituted for Edson Sousa. If Kaká Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Catuana's Marcelinho Guimarães sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelo Arruda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Duarte Linhares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Márcio de Toledo's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Marcelinho Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Márcio de Toledo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Márcio de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Duarte Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kaká Sousa took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Duarte Linhares. Duarte Linhares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 59 minutes into the game, Horácio Cruz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rondonopolis E. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Catuana the free kick. A collision led to Rondonopolis E. C. getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Horácio Cruz hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Marcelinho Guimarães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelinho Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Arruda having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Rondonopolis E. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Marcelinho Guimarães came free, but Angelo Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arlindo Mandrak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Duarte Linhares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kaká Sousa went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcelinho Guimarães during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marcelinho Guimarães hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 80 minutes, Márcio de Toledo made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. Catuana's Duarte Linhares tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Duarte Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kaká Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Rondonopolis E. C. were the better team. Rondonopolis E. C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
