Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Nilmar Bastos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Umberto do Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Umberto do Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kiko Marques in the 7th minute of play. Délio Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Nelsinho Cabral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Umberto do Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcinho Leme in the 16th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Xambioa defense, Amílton Mello kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nelsinho Cabral. The Xambioa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nelsinho Cabral should have stopped the shot. When Délio Arósio fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carnaubal FC's protests and gave Délio Arósio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st match minute, Carnaubal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Délio Arósio to maneuver through the defense. Marcinho Leme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 25th match minute, Carnaubal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Eduardo Lira to maneuver through the defense. Umberto do Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcinho Leme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Xambioa's Kiko Marques sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Umberto do Nascimento narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nelsinho Cabral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amílton Mello in the 29th minute. After having played for 34 minutes, Amílton Mello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carnaubal FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amílton Mello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amílton Mello who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Nelsinho Cabral when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 40th minute Délio Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Xambioa's Nelsinho Cabral got control of the ball when Amílton Mello tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carnaubal FC's Délio Arósio got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 55th minute, Amílton Mello made a precise shot to the right of Nelsinho Cabral. Xambioa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Délio Arósio in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelsinho Cabral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Carnaubal FC's zone, Kiko Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto do Nascimento came out of the goal and Kiko Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Délio Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xambioa's Nelsinho Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amílton Mello in the 77th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Carnaubal FC's Luiz Eduardo Lira got a free kick in the 79th minute. After 84 minutes of play, Carnaubal FC's Délio Arósio made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nelsinho Cabral was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Carnaubal FC's Luiz Eduardo Lira got a free kick in the 90th minute. Marcinho Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto do Nascimento having to interfere. Kiko Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xambioa's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
