In the 18th minute of the match, Sidney Costa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sidnei Vaz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 19 minutes into the match, Henrique Araújo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sidnei Vaz, 2-1. Cristino's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Sidney Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Vaz having to interfere. If João Paulo Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antônio Carlos Santos charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Sidnei Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidney Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Kléber Machado hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Sidney Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute.
