In the 2nd match minute, Massape was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitório Britto to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Vítor Torres in the 5th minute of play forced Massape's goalkeeper Túlio Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute Alfredão Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 12th minute of the game. One of StardaS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Massape:s goal. Diogo Santana shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Samuel Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Amorim in the 16th minute of the match. When Jefferson Figueiredo fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored StardaS's protests and gave Jefferson Figueiredo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to StardaS getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Jefferson Figueiredo hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Vítor Torres in the 21st minute of play forced Massape's goalkeeper Túlio Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredão Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Marinho having to interfere. With a little luck, StardaS's Samuel Antunes got control of the ball when Hílton Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cássio Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Samuel Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hílton Valle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Samuel Antunes made a huge save. After 35 played minutes Massape got a freekick which was hit by Michel Quintal. Túlio Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Vítor Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. If Hílton Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Samuel Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cássio Amorim was the one to do the kick off. StardaS's Samuel Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Amorim in the 62nd minute of play. StardaS's José Vítor Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Samuel Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hílton Valle in the 67th minute of play. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Massape's goalkeeper Túlio Marinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hílton Valle in the 77th minute of play forced StardaS's goalkeeper Samuel Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute José Vítor Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tostão da Cunha during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of StardaS booed when Massape was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tostão da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, José Vítor Torres took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Túlio Marinho to make any attempt to save it. Túlio Marinho made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Alfredão Guedes sent off a good shot on target. Cássio Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samuel Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Amorim in the 95th minute of play. The StardaS players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
