Pinhalao's Ernesto Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso de Mendonça in the 6th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nildo Miranda in the 8th minute of play forced Taderinha's goalkeeper Cícero Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute, Josué Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the match, Taderinha's goal looked a bit too open when Benê Meirelles came free, but Cícero Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Celso de Mendonça dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ernesto Barral, 1-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Taderinha:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pinhalao:s goal. After 23 minutes, Zé Roberto Baiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pinhalao and the Taderinha players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pinhalao's Zé Roberto Baiano got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 33rdth minute of the game Nildo Miranda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taderinha's Cícero Massa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Pinhalao's Ernesto Barral got control of the ball when Cléber Gonçalves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nildo Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39thth minute of the game Nildo Miranda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taderinha's Cícero Massa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cícero Massa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benê Meirelles's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Taderinha's Celso de Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ernesto Barral. That made the score 2-1 after 49 minutes of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nildo Miranda was the one to do the kick off. If Cléber Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Nildo Miranda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cícero Massa was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Ernesto Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso de Mendonça in the 57th minute of the match. Taderinha's Cícero Massa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Taderinha from getting a goal against them. Nildo Miranda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cícero Massa having to make a save. If Nildo Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benê Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Massa having to interfere. The supporters of Pinhalao booed when Taderinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute of the match Diguinho de Godoi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cícero Massa skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Pinhalao booed when Taderinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cléber Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celso de Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Ernesto Barral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernesto Barral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso de Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 83 minutes into the match, Pinhalao's Nildo Miranda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cícero Massa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cléber Negri charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cléber Negri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th match minute, Taderinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléber Negri to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute Nildo Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Zé Roberto Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernesto Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso de Mendonça in the 91st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Pinhalao's zone, Celso de Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto Barral came out of the goal and Celso de Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso de Mendonça in the 99th minute of play. Taderinha's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
