Nildo Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Zé Paulo Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Vladimir Teles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute of the match Davi Palmeira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ernesto Barral skillfully saved the ball. In the 24th minute, Chicão Valle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernesto Barral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Nildo Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Paulo Melo having to interfere. Zé Paulo Melo made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Benê Meirelles sent off a good shot on target. 37 minutes into the match, Pinhalao's goal looked a bit too open when Raphael Barreto came free, but Ernesto Barral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bonsucesso were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Pinhalao's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Davi Palmeira took the corner. After taking down the ball on Bonsucesso's corner Davi Palmeira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ernesto Barral quite easily take care of the ball. A hard and well directed shot from Davi Palmeira led 39 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Pinhalao's Ernesto Barral became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-2. Dé Nascimento's late challenge caught a Pinhalao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dé Nascimento helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st minute, Dé Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pinhalao's Benê Meirelles got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 48 minutes into the match, Bonsucesso's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Melo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benê Meirelles. After the first half Bonsucesso were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
In the 53rd minute of the match Pinhalao got a corner. Bonsucesso's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Diguinho de Godoi ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bonsucesso's Raphael Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Paulo Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nildo Miranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chicão Valle got free with Ernesto Barral in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chicão Valle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Ernesto Barral made a huge save. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Benê Meirelles sped through Bonsucesso's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zé Paulo Melo. After having played for 73 minutes, Nildo Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pinhalao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nildo Miranda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Raphael Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Bonsucesso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raphael Barreto couldn't finish the play. 85 minutes into the match, Bonsucesso's Raphael Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernesto Barral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pinhalao's Ernesto Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Barral in the 87th minute of play. Zé Paulo Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benê Meirelles in the 95th minute of the match. The Pinhalao supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bonsucesso's performance. The match ended with a win for Bonsucesso.
