After a rather tough play, Band MZC's Roger Pontes got a free kick in the 35th minute. After having played for 36 minutes, André Luís Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lapela's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Luís Ortiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vágner Varela hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute Dadá do Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilton Abraão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dadá do Nascimento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
