Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tibúrcio Pereira in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Carlos Vinhas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paulinho Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eliseu Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Grêmio FC's Patrick Mendonça threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paulinho Vidal, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 95 played minutes Alvorada got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Esteves. With a little luck, Alvorada's Patrick Mendonça got control of the ball when Telmo de Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alvorada's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
