Simão Sampaio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Vânderson Paranaense made a huge save. The supporters of Timbiras booed when Guarajuba SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Fernando Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 played minutes Timbiras got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Mangueira. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Augusto Cabral in the 18th minute of play forced Guarajuba SS's goalkeeper Vânderson Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vânderson Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Mangueira in the 21st minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Guarajuba SS's Lino Custódio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Douglas Perez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Matías Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Douglas Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Douglas Perez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Custódio, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lino Custódio in the 33rd minute of play forced Timbiras's goalkeeper Douglas Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simão Sampaio struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Vânderson Paranaense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Timbiras. A collision led to Timbiras getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Antônio Carlos Cordeiro hit a great ball. Douglas Perez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matías Prado went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

52 minutes into the match, Guarajuba SS's goal looked a bit too open when Simão Sampaio came free, but Vânderson Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guarajuba SS's Vânderson Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Augusto Cabral in the 55th minute of play. When Matías Prado came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Guarajuba SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matías Prado couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Matías Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarajuba SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Matías Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douglas Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matías Prado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Douglas Perez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. In the 72nd minute José Augusto Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vânderson Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Augusto Cabral in the 81st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Simão Sampaio in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vânderson Paranaense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 95th match minute, Timbiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Carlos Mangueira to maneuver through the defense.
