In the 6th minute, Itahy's André Luiz Almeida ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Osmar Novaes. Osmar Novaes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Osmar Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Luiz Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celso Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. André Luiz Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osmar Novaes having to interfere. Quincas SS's Osmar Novaes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Quincas SS from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, André Luiz Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itahy's supporters rose to their feet, but André Luiz Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osmar Novaes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, Quincas SS's goalkeeper Osmar Novaes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Luiz dos Santos. Quincas SS's Osmar Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luiz Almeida in the 28th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celso Miranda got free with Osmar Novaes in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. André Luiz dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osmar Novaes having to interfere. André Luiz Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Osmar Novaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celso Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when André Luiz Almeida made the kick off in the second half. André Luiz Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Osmar Novaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Quincas SS's zone, Celso Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osmar Novaes came out of the goal and Celso Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. André Luiz Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Osmar Novaes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Luiz Almeida in the 66th minute of the match. Itahy's Celso Miranda got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Quincas SS's Carlinhos Palmeira got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Quincas SS booed when Itahy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celso Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Osmar Novaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlinhos Palmeira's late challenge caught a Itahy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlinhos Palmeira helped the player get up and apologised. Carlinhos Palmeira hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After 82nd play minutes André Luiz Almeida shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Osmar Novaes and just under the crossbar into goal. After a defensive mix-up in Quincas SS's zone, Celso Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osmar Novaes came out of the goal and Celso Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Osmar Novaes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Luiz Almeida's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Luiz Almeida in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osmar Novaes saved Quincas SS from getting behind. There was no doubt that Itahy were the better team. Itahy's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
