Juan Medeiros who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 8thth minute tested the skills of Luiz Carvalho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luiz Carvalho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felipe Leal went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Felipe Leal might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Carvalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Leal ran back to his position shaking his head. Rafinha Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. When The Wall S.C's Nestor da Silva, in the 22nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for The Wall S.C. Yan Chaves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nestor da Silva's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute, Evaristo Favoretto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Wall S.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Felipe Leal struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Luiz Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Società Sportiva Palestra. If Felipe Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Leal got free with Luiz Carvalho in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luiz Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipe Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Luiz Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 45 minutes, Felipe Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Società Sportiva Palestra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipe Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Yan Chaves made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Nestor da Silva sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Medeiros in the 87th minute of play forced The Wall S.C's goalkeeper Luiz Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Juan Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Medeiros in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Carvalho saved The Wall S.C from getting behind. Luiz Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Leal in the 95th minute of the match. Felipe Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
