Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Jubaia's Alan Neiva started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Nicolas Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alan Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. When Nelsinho Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmeiras's protests and gave Nelsinho Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Nelsinho Rossi hit a great ball. Nicolas Alvarenga struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Bernardinho Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras. Nelsinho Rossi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardinho Maranhense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jubaia's goalkeeper Bernardinho Maranhense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Nicolas Alvarenga came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Palmeiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolas Alvarenga couldn't finish the play. Nelsinho Rossi struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Bernardinho Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras. 23 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goalkeeper Betão Aparecido had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eugênio Neiva. Nelsinho Rossi took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernardinho Maranhense. Bernardinho Maranhense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Eugênio Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betão Aparecido having to interfere. If Nelsinho Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Jubaia defense, Nelsinho Rossi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardinho Maranhense. The Jubaia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardinho Maranhense should have stopped the shot. Nelsinho Rossi struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Bernardinho Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras. Nicolas Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when Jubaia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Paulo Arce didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Palmeiras were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

José Paulo Mendes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Betão Aparecido. Palmeiras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jubaia's Bernardinho Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Alvarenga in the 80th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Bernardinho Maranhense successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Jubaia's zone, Nelsinho Rossi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardinho Maranhense came out of the goal and Nelsinho Rossi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th match minute, Jubaia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Paulo Mendes to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Travassos during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 85th minute, one of Jubaia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jubaia. Samuca de Barros walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Tomás Gomes fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmeiras's protests and gave Tomás Gomes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Gomes to maneuver through the defense. After 95 minutes, José Paulo Mendes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jubaia and the Palmeiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Jubaia's José Paulo Mendes got a free kick in the 96th minute.
