Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hílton Mesquita started the match with the kick off. Abelardo Bueno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Rosado in the 5th minute of play. Frank Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Acácio Leal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcinho Botelho came out and tried to block the shot, but Acácio Leal slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. With a little luck, Querencia SC's Marcinho Botelho got control of the ball when Acácio Leal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Abelardo Bueno came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Querencia SC's Paulo Gonçalves. But to his dismay, Paulo Gonçalves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of Castanhao SS booed when Querencia SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hílton Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcinho Botelho having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Gonçalves in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abelardo Bueno saved Castanhao SS from getting behind. If Hílton Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roberto Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Bueno having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Almir Eger during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd match minute, Castanhao SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Almir Eger to maneuver through the defense. Castanhao SS's Abelardo Bueno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Rosado in the 44th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Paulo Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Querencia SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Gonçalves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abelardo Bueno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roberto Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Bueno having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Roberto Rosado's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Abelardo Bueno firmly grabbed it by the left post. Abelardo Bueno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Gonçalves in the 54th minute of the match. A collision led to Querencia SC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Jerônimo de Alcântara hit a great ball. When Querencia SC's Paulo Gonçalves in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Castanhao SS's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Castanhao SS getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Almir Eger hit a great ball. Frank Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Castanhao SS's zone, Paulo Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Bueno came out of the goal and Paulo Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abelardo Bueno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roberto Rosado in the 81st minute. A collision led to Querencia SC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Jerônimo de Alcântara hit a great ball. After having played for 85 minutes, Acácio Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castanhao SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Acácio Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th play minute Roberto Rosado came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Abelardo Bueno. 2-2. Paulo Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Abelardo Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abelardo Bueno made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Roberto Rosado sent off a good shot on target. Querencia SC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Castanhao SS to leave the ground with a draw.
