The Last Word's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Camarajibe the free kick. The corner led Camarajibe's Donato França to fire away a dangerous shot which Cristóvão Varela despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Santos was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Hugo Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Camarajibe's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Britto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristóvão Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
