Mucambo's Eriberto Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Britto in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Walmir Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Oséias Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Camarajibe getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Arnaldo Domingues hit a great ball. In the 17th minute, Walmir Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of Camarajibe:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mucambo:s goal. Percy de Queiroz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Eriberto Cosme skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 29 minutes, Dário Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mucambo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dário Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Camarajibe's Walmir Novaes got a free kick in the 30th minute. When Walmir Novaes fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Camarajibe's protests and gave Walmir Novaes a yellow card for diving instead. Enio Viana was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Dário Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rogério Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Sá in the 39th minute of play.

The wind increased when Dário Sá made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Camarajibe's goalkeeper Rogério Valle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kaká Bittencourt. Eriberto Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percy de Queiroz in the 57th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dário Sá in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogério Valle saved Camarajibe from getting behind. Kaká Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Rogério Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enio Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Kaká Bittencourt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rogério Valle firmly grabbed it by the left post. Rogério Valle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaká Bittencourt in the 77th minute. Percy de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Eriberto Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Camarajibe's zone, Dário Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Valle came out of the goal and Dário Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
