The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Yuri de Castro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felippe Rodrigues having to make a save. Yuri de Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felippe Rodrigues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Hílton Linares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in BAHIA's zone, Yuri de Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felippe Rodrigues came out of the goal and Yuri de Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yuri de Castro in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Felippe Rodrigues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 23 minutes, Geovani Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BAHIA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovani Bastos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Rui Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tamboril SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felippe Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 28 minutes, Tiago Gabriel Guedes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yuri de Castro might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felippe Rodrigues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yuri de Castro ran back to his position shaking his head. Rui Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute, Rui Peres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tamboril SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Tamboril SS's Tiago Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Gabriel Guedes in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yuri de Castro to make the kick off. Dorival Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Felippe Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri de Castro in the 54th minute of the match. The corner ended in Celso de Almeida almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but BAHIA's Felippe Rodrigues did a great save. If Rui Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rui Peres struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Felippe Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tamboril SS. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Rui Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tamboril SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 89th match minute, Tamboril SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hílton Linares to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas de Carvalho in the 92nd minute of play forced Tamboril SS's goalkeeper Tiago Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tamboril SS walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
