Elias Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joélson Vergílio, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Baltazar Vidal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serginho Guedes in the 6th minute of play. When Edinho de Sena came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Pé de Canna F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edinho de Sena couldn't finish the play. Elias Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenílson Miranda in the 9th minute of play. Baltazar Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaká Trancoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, Egon's Sílvio Luís Quintal got a free kick in the 16th minute. Elias Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nildo Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute Serginho Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltazar Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elias Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joélson Vergílio in the 22nd minute of the match. If Serginho Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pé de Canna F.C's Elias Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luís Quintal in the 30th minute of play. In the 30th match minute, Egon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Teles to maneuver through the defense. Serginho Guedes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Baltazar Vidal made a huge save. Durval Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Serginho Guedes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baltazar Vidal was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. In the 38th minute, Lenílson Miranda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elias Silveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 43 minutes into the match, Joélson Vergílio notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Pé de Canna F.C's Elias Silveira. Elias Silveira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Sílvio Luís Quintal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elias Silveira was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. In the 49th minute Pé de Canna F.C were awarded a corner. Kaká Trancoso went to the cornerflag to take it. Válbson Prado was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serginho Guedes was the one to do the kick off. Lenílson Miranda hit a great ball. Jerônimo Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Egon's goal looked a bit too open when Serginho Guedes came free, but Baltazar Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baltazar Vidal came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Pé de Canna F.C's Kaká Trancoso. But to his dismay, Kaká Trancoso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Baltazar Vidal came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Pé de Canna F.C's Serginho Guedes. But to his dismay, Serginho Guedes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. After a rather tough play, Egon's Lenílson Miranda got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Baltazar Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serginho Guedes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the game, Pé de Canna F.C's Kaká Trancoso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baltazar Vidal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-3. After some careless play in the Pé de Canna F.C defense, Sílvio Luís Quintal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elias Silveira. The Pé de Canna F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elias Silveira should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pé de Canna F.C fans cheered their team off the field, for while Egon had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
