The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Jan Drake made a precise shot to the right of Danilo Hoffmann. Discípulos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Centro Limoeirense's Paulo José Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fausto Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Danilo Hoffmann made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Jan Drake sent off a good shot on target. Danilo Hoffmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavinho Leite in the 14th minute of play. Benedito Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Cícero Rosado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Discípulos FC booed when Centro Limoeirense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Paes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Paulo José Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Centro Limoeirense's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo José Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Danilo Hoffmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Paulo José Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jan Drake received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Paulo José Almeida blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Danilo Hoffmann having to make a save. Flavinho Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fausto Mendes kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 68th minute, Percy da Fonseca made a precise shot to the right of Danilo Hoffmann. Discípulos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Centro Limoeirense made a substitution. Murilo Eger replaced Flavinho Leite. When Cláudio Paes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 74 minutes had been played. Cláudio Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. When Eliseu Donato came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Centro Limoeirense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseu Donato couldn't finish the play.
