Hélio Lopez's late challenge caught a Canastrao SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manfredo França showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizinho Paraense, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After some careless play in the Canastrao SC defense, Hélio Lopez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manfredo França. The Canastrao SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manfredo França should have stopped the shot. Manfredo França showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizinho Paraense, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The supporters of Canastrao SC booed when Salgadalia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Saldanha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manfredo França showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válbson Aguiar in the 42nd minute of the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ediberto Breckenfeld couldn't finish the play. Duarte Paraibano kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The Canastrao SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Salgadalia FC were winning 0-1.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Salgadalia FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
