Taireta's Hélder Gaspar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Taireta from getting a goal against them. When Irupi EC's Luisão Guedes, in the 11th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Irupi EC. Oscar Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Irupi EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 33rdth minute of the game Luisão Guedes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taireta's Hélder Gaspar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 34 played minutes Taireta got a freekick which was hit by Dário Aparecido. Oscar Senna struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Hélder Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Irupi EC. The supporters of Irupi EC booed when Taireta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiaguinho Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Taireta's Hélder Gaspar got control of the ball when Oscar Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luisão Guedes made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Egídio Negri during the 52nd minute.
