Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luiz Fernando Bezerra started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute Oscar Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Augusto Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the game, Bruno Ortiz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Irupi EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tesouras SS the free kick. The supporters of Tesouras SS booed when Irupi EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Luiz Fernando Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oscar Senna in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Augusto Valladares saved Tesouras SS from getting behind. Luiz Fernando Bezerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Galvão having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Tesouras SS's Bebeto Dracena got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 24thth minute of the game Oscar Senna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tesouras SS's José Augusto Valladares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luiz Fernando Bezerra might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roberto Galvão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Fernando Bezerra ran back to his position shaking his head. Oscar Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Luisão Guedes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Augusto Valladares was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Bruno Ortiz kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Raphael Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Galvão having to interfere. Raphael Siqueira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Roberto Galvão firmly grabbed it by the left post. José Augusto Valladares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisão Guedes in the 46th minute of the match. José Augusto Valladares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Irupi EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 62nd minute, Nestor Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raphael Siqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Irupi EC's Bruno Ortiz got his second yellow card of the match in the 64th minute. The referee ordered Bruno Ortiz off the ground. After having played for 66 minutes, Luiz Fernando Bezerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tesouras SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Fernando Bezerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Senna got free with José Augusto Valladares in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dorival Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Irupi EC's Nestor Luz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Siqueira in the 86th minute of play forced Irupi EC's goalkeeper Roberto Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
