The referee showed Guto Lopez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 8 played minutes The Joker got a freekick which was hit by Guto Lopez. After 9 played minutes Joffre got a freekick which was hit by Dorival Vieira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival Vieira in the 12th minute of play forced The Joker's goalkeeper Elano Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, João Paulo Novaes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dorival Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, The Joker's goal looked a bit too open when Dorival Vieira came free, but Elano Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Paulo Novaes struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Elano Cabral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Joffre. Joffre's supporters rose to their feet, but João Paulo Novaes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elano Cabral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Dorival Vieira sped through The Joker's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elano Cabral. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorival Vieira in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elano Cabral saved The Joker from getting behind. In the 58th minute Dorival Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elano Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of The Joker booed when Joffre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrício Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute Luiz Fabiano Munhoz managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Elano Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Paulo Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee ignored The Joker's protests and gave Luiz Fabiano Munhoz a yellow card for diving instead. Dorival Vieira struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Elano Cabral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Joffre. 98 minutes into the match, The Joker's goal looked a bit too open when Dorival Vieira came free, but Elano Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Joffre had played much better football throughout.
