The supporters of Itamatare FC booed when Aguia de Ouro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdemar Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo Vasconcelos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Itamatare FC's goalkeeper Frédson Simão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elano Cearense. When Dé Nunes, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 15 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Frédson Simão was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 16th minute, one of Itamatare FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Itamatare FC. After 22 minutes Itamatare FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Remo Loureiro who took care of the corner kick. Remo Loureiro made a great header on Aguia de Ouro FC's corner, it was just that Itamatare FC's Frédson Simão managed to reach the ball for a save. Itamatare FC's Frédson Simão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Itamatare FC from getting a goal against them. In the 29th match minute, Itamatare FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luiz Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. Itamatare FC's Frédson Simão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dé Nunes in the 37th minute of play. Frédson Simão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dé Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dé Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frédson Simão having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Benjamim Pena made the kick off in the second half. Benjamim Pena took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdemar Vasconcelos. Valdemar Vasconcelos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 56th match minute, Itamatare FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Itamatare FC defense, Elano Cearense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frédson Simão. The Itamatare FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frédson Simão should have stopped the shot. In the 75th minute, Elano Cearense made a precise shot to the right of Frédson Simão. Itamatare FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Elano Cearense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frédson Simão having to make a save. In the 81st match minute, Itamatare FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Itamatare FC's Jerônimo Vasconcelos managed to work through Aguia de Ouro FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Jerônimo Vasconcelos dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After 87 played minutes Aguia de Ouro FC got a freekick which was hit by Doriva Vale. Benjamim Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Vasconcelos having to interfere. Valdemar Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamim Pena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Benjamim Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aguia de Ouro FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Itamatare FC for a fine match.
