Escrivao's Jardel Gomes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Damião in the 3rd minute of play. Jardel Gomes came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Barreto's Carlos Fernando Sena. But to his dismay, Carlos Fernando Sena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 11 played minutes, Barreto's Alfredão Galvão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jardel Gomes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Barreto reached it. Jardel Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the game, Víktor Braga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jardel Gomes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Barreto's Guilherme Diniz got a free kick in the 20th minute. Kaká Damião's late challenge caught a Escrivao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kaká Damião helped the player get up and apologised. Kaká Damião kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Jardel Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, Lino Massa notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Barreto's Patrick Santos. Patrick Santos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The wind increased when Lino Massa made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thomás Montenegro during the 53rd minute. Jardel Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fernando Sena in the 66th minute of the match. In the 68th minute Zé Roberto Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barreto's Patrick Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Massa in the 69th minute of play. After 73 played minutes Escrivao got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Gonçalves. The supporters of Barreto booed when Escrivao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedê Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 85th match minute, Escrivao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Mangueira to maneuver through the defense.
