Thomás Montenegro hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Bacaubas SS's Dida Linares got control of the ball when João Cearense tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luís Seco in the 9th minute of play forced Barreto's goalkeeper Patrick Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrick Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Fernando Senas short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Dida Linares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dida Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká Damião in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, Bacaubas SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulisses Valle to maneuver through the defense. When Kaká Damião came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Barreto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kaká Damião couldn't finish the play. Kaká Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Linares having to interfere. If Carlos Fernando Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Barreto's goal looked a bit too open when Patrício Azevedo came free, but Patrick Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Carlos Fernando Sena sped through Bacaubas SS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dida Linares. João Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Linares having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Fernando Sena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Bacaubas SS's Celso Abreu got a free kick in the 51st minute. Patrício Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patrick Santos made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Patrício Azevedo sent off a good shot on target. João Cearense might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dida Linares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Cearense ran back to his position shaking his head. Dida Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Sena in the 66th minute of play. If Carlos Fernando Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Róbson de Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Róbson de Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 72nd minute, Róbson de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Dida Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute Kaká Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Bacaubas SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulisses Valle to maneuver through the defense. Kaká Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Dida Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the game, Celso Abreu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bacaubas SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barreto the free kick. In the 88th minute, one of Bacaubas SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bacaubas SS. A collision led to Barreto getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Víktor Braga hit a great ball. Patrick Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Luís Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Barreto's goalkeeper Patrick Santos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Róbson de Medeiros. After recieving a nice pass, Bacaubas SS's Aílton Barral tried to score from far away in the 99th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
