Cerquilho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thiago Mangueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cerquilho's Ademir de Alcântara got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute, Clóvis Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 17th minute of the match Clóvis Vides completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Clóvis Vides a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Cerquilho getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Clóvis Vides hit a great ball. Dagoberto Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo de Queirós in the 19th minute of play. Jardel de Sousa hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Dagoberto Proença made an important save on a dangerous shot by Serginho Ferreira in the 25th minute. In the 31st minute Eduardo Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dagoberto Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonardo de Queirós made a kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Cerquilho's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo de Queirós came free, but Dagoberto Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cerquilho's Wiliam Veiga got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romeu Saraiva hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. If Raphael Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 85 minutes into the match, Cerquilho's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo de Queirós came free, but Dagoberto Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonardo de Queirós's late challenge caught a Cerquilho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonardo de Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Leonardo de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Eduardo Motta came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Capatara EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Motta couldn't finish the play. Thiago Mangueira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vágner Leite came out and tried to block the shot, but Thiago Mangueira slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 93rd minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Capatara EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cerquilho had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
