Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Elói das Neves got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Londrina E. C.'s zone, Ricardinho Mineiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabiano Arruda came out of the goal and Ricardinho Mineiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th match minute, Fortaleza FA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Moraes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Rony Trevisan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Londrina E. C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Rony Trevisan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Carlos Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anderson Lira hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Luiz Queiroz scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Carlos Medeiros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Júlio Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elói das Neves in the 29th minute of play forced Londrina E. C.'s goalkeeper Fabiano Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Londrina E. C. getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Rony Trevisan hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the match, Fortaleza FA's Elói das Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabiano Arruda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Luiz Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Londrina E. C. booed when Fortaleza FA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Júlio Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Júlio Barreto was the one to do the kick off. Gugu Toscano hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Ricardinho Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 54th minute Elói das Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Londrina E. C.'s Fabiano Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elói das Neves in the 60th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anderson Lira during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 61st minute, Anderson Lira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ademar Messias charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ademar Messias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ademar Messias kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Fabiano Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elói das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After 69 played minutes Londrina E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Leme. Elói das Neves might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabiano Arruda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elói das Neves ran back to his position shaking his head. Júlio Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carlos Medeiros having to interfere. In the 84th of the match, Júlio Barreto tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but José Carlos Medeiros got in the way and made a wonderful save.
