In the 27th minute Gilberto Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Trancoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Caco Maranhense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caco Maranhense got his second yellow card in the match during the 33rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Tocandira FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Caco Maranhense hit a great ball. With a little luck, Tocandira FC's Nicolas Trancoso got control of the ball when César Braga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tocandira FC's Nicolas Trancoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Meirelles in the 46th minute of play. César Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Nicolas Trancoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Luiz Queirós made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Tocandira FC booed when Meriti SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilberto Meirelles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Frank Costa made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Luiz Queirós sent off a good shot on target. If César Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Meriti SS's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
