The referee ignored The Inquisitorial Monkeys's protests and gave Sidney Varela a yellow card for diving instead. When Jairo Miranda came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Mandacaru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jairo Miranda couldn't finish the play. After 60 played minutes The Inquisitorial Monkeys got a freekick which was hit by Wágner Prestes. Mandacaru's Percival Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Varela in the 74th minute of play.
