Pedro Augusto Paes made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Joel Motta sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Arata's Andrézinho Arruda got a free kick in the 7th minute. Arata's Pedro Augusto Paes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Arata from getting a goal against them. Waldemar Vander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Pedro Augusto Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Arata's goalkeeper Pedro Augusto Paes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Motta. Waldemar Vander's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Augusto Paes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, gueizao's Ulysses Zanette got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for Arata. Claudinho de Azevedo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Aílton Zanette. 1-1. After having played for 36 minutes, Joel Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. gueizao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Motta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arata's goalkeeper Pedro Augusto Paes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joel Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Augusto Paes having to interfere. If Waldemar Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute Waldemar Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Augusto Paes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Motta struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Pedro Augusto Paes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for gueizao. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Aílton Zanette made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jano Coelho in the 74th minute of play. After a rather tough play, gueizao's Waldemar Vander got a free kick in the 76th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Jano Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arata's supporters rose to their feet, but Jano Coelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aílton Zanette breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 89th minute, Waldemar Vander ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Augusto Paes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Jano Coelho struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Aílton Zanette didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arata. Fernandão Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. gueizao's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
