With 32 minutes on the clock, Luís Fábio Paiva commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 33rd match minute, Ipua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fábio Paiva to maneuver through the defense. After 34 minutes of play, VIAMÃO F.C.'s Luís Fernando Toscano made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vítor Vieira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ramón Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jorginho Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Zé Roberto Travassos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VIAMÃO F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ipua the free kick. After 40 played minutes VIAMÃO F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Travassos. Ramón Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jorginho Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorginho Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natanael Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. If Ramón Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Benjamim Neto made the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 52nd minute by Claudinei Velasco got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fernando Toscano in the 55th minute of play forced Ipua's goalkeeper Vítor Vieira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Ipua's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Roberto Travassos came free, but Vítor Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When João Vítor Lopez fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipua's protests and gave João Vítor Lopez a yellow card for diving instead. Natanael Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Félix having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Ramón Marquez fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jorginho Félix, passed just outside the right post. Ramón Marquez struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Jorginho Félix didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipua. Vítor Vieira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamim Neto in the 77th minute of the match. If Ramón Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedrão Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Jorginho Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Pedrão Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. During the 91st minute of the match Zé Roberto Travassos completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Zé Roberto Travassos a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Ipua booed when VIAMÃO F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramón Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Félix having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. VIAMÃO F.C. were victorious despite being under pressure from Ipua for much of the match.
