Jarbas Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enéas Ribeiro in the 43rd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Ezequiel de Andrade notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Boston Garden's Jarbas Branco. Jarbas Branco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 69th minute, Ezequiel de Andrade made a precise shot to the right of Jarbas Branco. Boston Garden's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Vivaldo Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guto Britto in the 74th minute of play. After 87 played minutes Boston Garden got a freekick which was hit by Oséias Moura. In the 94th minute, Delfim Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Goncalves EC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
