A collision led to Fyde-FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Dudu Leme hit a great ball. Betão Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nando Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Sebastião Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fyde-FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastião Macedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Curituba AD's goalkeeper Anísio Tavares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nando Teixeira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The attack was good, but when Cacá Salgado in the 57th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Basílio Peixoto got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Basílio Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Nando Teixeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júlio Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Betão Donato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curituba AD. The supporters of Curituba AD booed when Fyde-FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudu Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st match minute, Curituba AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. Adilson Dias scored 2-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anísio Tavares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anísio Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião Macedo in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Curituba AD's Júlio Carvalho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
