An unexpectedly hard shot by Rainer Markholt in the 44th minute of play forced Delfina's goalkeeper Augusto Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, iron maiden's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Lopez came free, but Luiz Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rainer Markholt to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute of the match, Claudinho Valladares tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Augusto Quirino saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Cléber Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Delfina's supporters rose to their feet, but Cléber Barreto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Berger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
