Jorge Zonta was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Amadeu Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papary EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Amadeu Rossi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Breno de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Richard Veloso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorge Zonta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Célio Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ventura's supporters rose to their feet, but Célio Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Zonta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Papary EC's zone, Célio Tavares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Zonta came out of the goal and Célio Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Célio Tavares struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Jorge Zonta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ventura. Zé Augusto Ferraz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Breno de Alcântara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Papary EC's Doriva Simões suffered a sore knee after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 48 minutes, Vladimir Jacinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ventura and the Papary EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Papary EC booed when Ventura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Célio Tavares was the one to do the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Célio Tavares couldn't finish the play.
