If Waldemar Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 6th minute, Ronaldinho Veiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 8th match minute, Jaguarandi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Hernani Mota left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cacimbas EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Cido Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Veiga in the 17th minute of play. If Ronaldinho Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21stth minute of the game Hernani Mota who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jaguarandi's Cido Coelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Romeu Novaes fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cacimbas EC's protests and gave Romeu Novaes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Romeu Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cacimbas EC's Ronaldinho Veiga got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hernani Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Cido Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Cacimbas EC's goalkeeper Noel Vides had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Waldemar Pinheiro. Hélio Meira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 39th minute. Jaguarandi's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Jaguarandi's Antônio Penha shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 41st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Noel Vides but with some difficulty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernani Mota in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cido Coelho saved Jaguarandi from getting behind. Cido Coelho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronaldinho Veiga's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. After the first half Cacimbas EC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hernani Mota stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cacimbas EC's Noel Vides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélio Meira in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Claudinei do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, Cacimbas EC's goal looked a bit too open when Hélio Meira came free, but Noel Vides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jaguarandi's Waldemar Pinheiro in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Noel Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélio Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute Waldemar Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Vides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Ronaldinho Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cacimbas EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldinho Veiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cido Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Hernani Mota came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Cacimbas EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernani Mota couldn't finish the play. Orlando Barbosa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Noel Vides. Cacimbas EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Cacimbas EC booed when Jaguarandi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Francisco Campidelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romeu Novaes hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Waldemar Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Vides having to interfere. Noel Vides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Meira in the 93rd minute of play.
