In the 4th minute Lúcio Ferraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lúcio Ferraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the match, Mamonas Assassinas's goal looked a bit too open when Silas Galvão came free, but Maicon Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Fabiano Braga's late challenge caught a Mamonas Assassinas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Fabiano Braga helped the player get up and apologised. Luís Fabiano Braga hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Engenhinho SS's goalkeeper Gilberto Paranaense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 20th minute José Maria França shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudinho Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Maicon Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Engenhinho SS's Gilberto Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Ferraz in the 26th minute of play. Téo Pitta charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Téo Pitta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 32 played minutes Mamonas Assassinas got a freekick which was hit by Téo Pitta. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Silas Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Engenhinho SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Silas Galvão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maicon Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 37th minute of the match Toninho Guimarães sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilberto Paranaense skillfully saved the ball. Mamonas Assassinas's Maicon Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silas Galvão in the 40th minute of play. Kiko Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Maicon Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silas Galvão in the 45th minute of play forced Mamonas Assassinas's goalkeeper Maicon Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudinho Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Maicon Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when José Maria França made the kick off in the second half. When Luís Fabiano Braga was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 58 minutes had been played. After 58 played minutes Engenhinho SS got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Braga. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Lúcio Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mamonas Assassinas's supporters rose to their feet, but Lúcio Ferraz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilberto Paranaense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 64thth minute of the game Lúcio Ferraz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Engenhinho SS's Gilberto Paranaense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Engenhinho SS's Gilberto Paranaense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Engenhinho SS from getting a goal against them. 70 minutes into the match, Mamonas Assassinas's José Maria França sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto Paranaense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 73 minutes, Claudinho Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Engenhinho SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinho Barral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilberto Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria França, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. With his leg Gilberto Paranaense managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when Mamonas Assassinas's Lúcio Ferraz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. José Maria França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Gilberto Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd match minute, Engenhinho SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silas Galvão to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Engenhinho SS getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Kiko Tavares hit a great ball. After 85 played minutes, Mamonas Assassinas's Percival de Queirós shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gilberto Paranaense came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mamonas Assassinas reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lúcio Ferraz got free with Gilberto Paranaense in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In a very dangerous position, a player in Engenhinho SS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty! The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mamonas Assassinas walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
