Guaraense FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Celso Queirós 4 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, Financial MK's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Guedes came free, but Clemente Simão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juan Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Clemente Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the game, Ronaldo Magalhães cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Clemente Simão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 20 minutes into the match, Financial MK's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Guedes came free, but Clemente Simão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juan Guedes took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Clemente Simão. Clemente Simão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Franklin Queirós hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Juan Guedes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guaraense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Guedes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemente Simão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Juan Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flavinho Paulista during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Financial MK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Guaraense FC:s goal. Christian Damião shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After a defensive mix-up in Guaraense FC's zone, Tião Magalhães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Pereira came out of the goal and Tião Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute, one of Guaraense FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Guaraense FC. In the 46th minute, Ronaldo Magalhães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clemente Simão was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ronaldo Magalhães made the kick off in the second half. Financial MK's Tião Magalhães got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Queirós in the 57th minute of play forced Guaraense FC's goalkeeper Anselmo Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Simão having to interfere. Tião Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Pereira having to interfere. Edinho Sanches hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Edinho Sanches charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edinho Sanches the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If José Carlos Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Financial MK's goalkeeper Clemente Simão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Financial MK booed when Guaraense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Damião didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tião Magalhães during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Clemente Simão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
