After a defensive mix-up in Ibitiruna SS's zone, Edmundo Cardozo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Magalhães came out of the goal and Edmundo Cardozo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the game, Bujaru EC's Manoel Guimarães nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thiago Magalhães made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Manoel Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Thiago Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thiago Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Cardozo in the 20th minute of play. If Dadá Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bujaru EC's João Augusto Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dadá Carioca in the 28th minute of play. Pedro Augusto Carioca charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Augusto Carioca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th minute, Pedro Augusto Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 34 played minutes Bujaru EC got a freekick which was hit by André Luís Corrêa. João Augusto Vidal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Davi Dantas in the 37th minute. In the 43rd minute, Ibitiruna SS's Dadá Carioca ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind João Augusto Vidal. João Augusto Vidal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Dadá Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Cardozo was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Edmundo Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 55th match minute, Bujaru EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmundo Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the match, Manoel Guimarães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Magalhães. Ibitiruna SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manoel Guimarães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Edmundo Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Magalhães having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Dadá Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ibitiruna SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Dadá Carioca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Augusto Vidal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Augusto Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davi Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ibitiruna SS's Thiago Magalhães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Ibitiruna SS from getting a goal against them. 72 minutes into the game, Ibitiruna SS's Dadá Carioca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Augusto Vidal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. When Ibitiruna SS's Ramiro Linhares in 77 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. João Augusto Vidal guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. If Davi Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thiago Magalhães was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edmundo Cardozo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 87 minute of play. Manoel Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Magalhães having to interfere. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bujaru EC's goalkeeper João Augusto Vidal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
