Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Telmo Monteiro in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabrício Fernandes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If José Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Telmo Monteiro was the one to do the kick off. Cesinha de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yuri Netto having to interfere. Telmo Monteiro struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Fabrício Fernandes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vila barro branco. 93 minutes into the game, José Maria Toscano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vila barro branco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Picos FC the free kick. If José Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Picos FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
