Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Oscar Penha got the match started through his kick off. Fabrício Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Hames, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cesinha de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Picos FC defense, Noel Hames kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabrício Fernandes. The Picos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabrício Fernandes should have stopped the shot. With 17 minutes on the clock, Juan Dracena commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Varginha F.C.! Varginha F.C.:s Bebeto de Queirós showed great skill when he stopped Luciano Fantini:s penalty. Varginha F.C.'s Bebeto de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rony Meirelles in the 25th minute of play. Noel Hames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Noel Hames's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabrício Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rony Meirelles in the 31st minute of play forced Varginha F.C.'s goalkeeper Bebeto de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bebeto de Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rony Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Noel Hames fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrício Fernandes having to interfere. Evandro Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Bebeto de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rony Meirelles in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rony Meirelles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Noel Hames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Noel Hames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Varginha F.C.'s Oscar Penha got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute of the match Luciano Fantini shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bebeto de Queirós showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Noel Hames's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabrício Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the game, Varginha F.C.'s Noel Hames nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabrício Fernandes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Noel Hames in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fabrício Fernandes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Fabrício Fernandes made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Noel Hames sent off a good shot on target. Tomé Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Picos FC's Fabrício Fernandes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Picos FC from getting a goal against them. Fabrício Fernandes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Noel Hames went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Picos FC's zone, Noel Hames stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabrício Fernandes came out of the goal and Noel Hames tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 95 played minutes Picos FC got a freekick which was hit by Percy Vieira. Varginha F.C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
