Vazantes's Laerte Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Isaltino Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golfos's supporters rose to their feet, but Isaltino Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonel Gaspar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Golfos's Tony Eger got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tony Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Gaspar having to interfere. Tony Eger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Leonel Gaspar made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tony Eger got free with Leonel Gaspar in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tony Eger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leonel Gaspar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Laerte Soares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Paulo Cearense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 35th match minute, Golfos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Meirelles to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute, Serginho Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes into the match, Vazantes's goal looked a bit too open when Isaltino Peres came free, but Leonel Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Laerte Soares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Golfos's Tony Eger in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vazantes's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Vazantes defense, Isaltino Peres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonel Gaspar. The Vazantes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonel Gaspar should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 71 minutes into the game, when Toninho Rossi put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Vazantes a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luiz Fabiano Fonseca, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Golfos's Pedro Paulo Cearense. 1-1. Leonel Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Golfos getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Tony Eger hit a great ball. Tony Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Gaspar having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Eger in the 81st minute of play forced Vazantes's goalkeeper Leonel Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vazantes's zone, Tony Eger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonel Gaspar came out of the goal and Tony Eger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonel Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hudson Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Vazantes's Leonel Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Eger in the 86th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Vazantes's Pedro Paulo Cearense threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Serginho Cerezo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 94 minutes, Rubens Porto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Golfos and the Vazantes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tony Eger in the 99th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonel Gaspar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Golfos players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
