Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Durval Ceresso was extremely unlucky when he, in the 12th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 13 played minutes Nacional FC got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Godoi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Ceresso in the 15th minute of play forced Nacional FC's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute, Tarcisio Catarinense made a precise shot to the right of Ediberto França. Farias's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Farias's Durval Ceresso got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Geovani da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 1-2 became the score in the 31st minute when Zeca Valadares elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Nacional FC booed when Farias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durval Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Nacional FC's zone, Durval Ceresso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Fernando Cabral came out of the goal and Durval Ceresso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nacional FC's goalkeeper Carlos Fernando Cabral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Farias players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Nacional FC were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Geovani da Cunha made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Nacional FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elivélton Santana to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the match, Nacional FC's goal looked a bit too open when Geovani da Cunha came free, but Carlos Fernando Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Geovani da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Fernando Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Durval Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Geovani da Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Farias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovani da Cunha couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovani da Cunha in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Fernando Cabral saved Nacional FC from getting behind. Carlos Fernando Cabral came out of the goal and Durval Ceresso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Farias's Geovani da Cunha in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nacional FC's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Geovani da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Farias's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovani da Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Fernando Cabral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ediberto França took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elivélton Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benê Linhares was shown his second yellow card after 84 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Benê Linhares hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Durval Ceresso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 88th minute, João Batista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dudu França came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Farias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dudu França couldn't finish the play. Nacional FC's Carlos Fernando Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durval Ceresso in the 94th minute of play. In the 98th minute of the match, Tarcisio Catarinense tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ediberto França saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Nacional FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
