After some careless play in the Estrela Vermelha Potiguar defense, Arí Neves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victor Romero. The Estrela Vermelha Potiguar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victor Romero should have stopped the shot. In the 12th minute, Estrela Vermelha Potiguar's Giovanni Sanches ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Betinho Alagoano. Betinho Alagoano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Geraldo de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafa Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Alagoano having to interfere. Giovanni Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Betinho Alagoano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute Giovanni Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betinho Alagoano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, ABANDONADO's Betinho Alagoano got control of the ball when Fernando Meira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fernando Meira took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Betinho Alagoano. Betinho Alagoano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Remo Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Alagoano having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Arí Neves made the kick off in the second half. Victor Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arí Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Fernando Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Betinho Alagoano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victor Romero acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 64th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Chico Vinhas. In the 71st minute Arí Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Betinho Alagoano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Giovanni Sanches came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Estrela Vermelha Potiguar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovanni Sanches couldn't finish the play.
