The audience thought a goal was coming when Elder Moreno got free with Lino Dante in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benedito Neiva came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Itapeacu FC's Válter da Costa. But to his dismay, Válter da Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 22nd minute, Álvaro Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oswaldo da Rocha was extremely unlucky when he, in the 28th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Frédson Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elder Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Lino Dante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Itapeacu FC's Frédson Neto got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Itapeacu FC booed when Buritis EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rdth minute of the game Válter da Costa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buritis EC's Benedito Neiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elder Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

In the 56th minute Oswaldo da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Buritis EC's Elder Moreno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lino Dante made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Frédson Neto might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benedito Neiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frédson Neto ran back to his position shaking his head. 70 minutes into the match, Buritis EC's goal looked a bit too open when Válter da Costa came free, but Benedito Neiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Jardel Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 71 minutes, Válter da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapeacu FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Válter da Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Válter da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Neiva having to interfere. Benedito Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válter da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lino Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elder Moreno in the 87th minute of play. Gustavo Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. If Elder Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 94th minute Elder Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Itapeacu FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Tiaguinho Trancoso hit a great ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Itapeacu FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
