Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Valdomiro Araújo started the match with the kick off. Valdomiro Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Saldanha having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gildo Netto during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Túlio Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Jonathan Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the game, Antônio Loureiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montes Claros F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capaozinho EC the free kick. Antônio Loureiro hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Diogo Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montes Claros F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gláuber Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Dário Novaes fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capaozinho EC's protests and gave Dário Novaes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Montes Claros F.C booed when Capaozinho EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário Novaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute, Diogo Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Pombal in the 26th minute of play. Gláuber Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdomiro Araújo in the 28th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferraz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Túlio Ferreira's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Valdomiro Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Gláuber Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Túlio Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gláuber Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdomiro Araújo in the 46th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Túlio Ferreira to make the kick off. Montes Claros F.C's Gildo Netto got his second yellow card of the match in the 51st minute. The referee ordered Gildo Netto off the ground. A collision led to Montes Claros F.C getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Gildo Netto hit a great ball. Montes Claros F.C's Jonathan Ferraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Montes Claros F.C from getting a goal against them. Túlio Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jonathan Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Pombal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diogo Arruda struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Gláuber Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montes Claros F.C. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Túlio Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capaozinho EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Túlio Ferreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferraz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferraz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Augusto Pombal in the 76th minute. Jonathan Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. If Augusto Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Túlio Ferreira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferraz came out and tried to block the shot, but Túlio Ferreira slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 87th minute. In the 93rd minute Túlio Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Jonathan Ferraz made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Augusto Pombal sent off a good shot on target. The Montes Claros F.C fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Capaozinho EC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
