Mário Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Luís Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Gerber made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guga Pimenta in the 17th minute. Mário Jacinto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Luís Gerber when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luís Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Jacinto in the 20th minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Marcel Cavalcante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Milan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fluminense FC the free kick. Zé Pedro Leite came out of the goal and Juvenal dos Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Diogo Capixaba left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AC Milan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 36 minutes into the game, Nico Vasconcelos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Zé Pedro Leite was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Guga Pimenta was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 43rd minute. Fluminense FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 46th minute, Márcio Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mário Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Gerber having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kauan Loureiro made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Márcio Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guga Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Betão Paiva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Gerber. AC Milan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Betão Paiva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Chiquinho Leite could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Zé Pedro Leite made a huge save. 96 minutes into the match, Mário Jacinto notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of AC Milan's Luís Gerber. Luís Gerber was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fluminense FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
