When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Denílson Botelho put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jarbas Mota. Tirador's Armandinho Trigo came free and shot a quick shot against goal 35 minutes in the game, fortunately Jarbas Mota had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Vitinho Hermes charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vitinho Hermes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vitinho Hermes hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Falcão Football Club's Jarbas Mota got control of the ball when Armandinho Trigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gláuber Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Denílson Botelho's late challenge caught a Falcão Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
