Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) New York City F.C.'s Tales Valadares started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Ideal getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Waldemar de Godoy hit a great ball. Amauri Linhares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. André Mangueira might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Eduardo Matorin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Mangueira ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 11th minute André Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Eduardo Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute Tales Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernani do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tales Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani do Nascimento having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, New York City F.C.'s goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Matorin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedrinho Andrade. A collision led to New York City F.C. getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Elano Reis hit a great ball. Pedrinho Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Carlos Eduardo Matorin made a huge save. In the 23rd match minute, Ideal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé Albuquerque to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Tales Valadares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernani do Nascimento was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 29 minutes into the match, Ideal's Pedrinho Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Eduardo Matorin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Zacarias Eger kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Eduardo Matorin. That made the score 1-1 in the 31 minute of play. Ideal's Dedé Albuquerque got his second yellow card of the match in the 35th minute. The referee ordered Dedé Albuquerque off the ground. A collision led to Ideal getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Dedé Albuquerque hit a great ball. Ernani do Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tales Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. André Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Pedro Santana during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The corner led New York City F.C.'s Paulo José Teles to fire away a dangerous shot which Ernani do Nascimento despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedrinho Andrade was the one to do the kick off. Ernani do Nascimento made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Amauri Linhares sent off a good shot on target. New York City F.C.'s Amauri Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ideal's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Tales Valadares scored to the left of an out of position Ernani do Nascimento, making the score, 1-2. After 66 played minutes Tales Valadares rounded Ideal's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Pedrinho Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ideal's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedrinho Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Eduardo Matorin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedrinho Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Eduardo Matorin having to interfere. Tales Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Ideal's Ernani do Nascimento got control of the ball when Amauri Linhares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carlos Eduardo Matorin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrinho Andrade in the 93rd minute of the match. Carlos Eduardo Matorin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrinho Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tales Valadares might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernani do Nascimento. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tales Valadares ran back to his position shaking his head. Tales Valadares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
