The tension between the Cananea and the 1981 Immortals players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Cananea getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Moisés da Cunha hit a great ball. Joaquim Aparecido recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 16 played minutes 1981 Immortals got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Simões. Manfredo Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Adelino Sá could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Cícero Martins made a huge save. César Domingues's late challenge caught a 1981 Immortals's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. César Domingues helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st minute, César Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquim Aparecido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Túlio Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the 1981 Immortals defense, Abel da Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Túlio Quintal. The 1981 Immortals fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Túlio Quintal should have stopped the shot. Claudinho Paulista hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd match minute, Cananea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Claudinho Paulista from long distance, 37 minutes into the match, got Cícero Martins's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Adelino Sá's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cícero Martins firmly grabbed it by the left post. 41 minutes into the match, 1981 Immortals's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Aparecido came free, but Túlio Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cícero Martins was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Benedito Garcia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benedito Garcia really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benedito Garcia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Cananea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tostão de Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. Cícero Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Sá in the 53rd minute of the match. Benedito Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Cícero Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cícero Martins came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by 1981 Immortals's Benedito Garcia. But to his dismay, Benedito Garcia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. With a little luck, 1981 Immortals's Túlio Quintal got control of the ball when Joaquim Aparecido tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cícero Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedito Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute, Adelino Sá made a precise shot to the right of Cícero Martins. Cananea's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. César Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Túlio Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adelino Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Cícero Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Adelino Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1981 Immortals's supporters rose to their feet, but Adelino Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cícero Martins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Cananea's zone, Adelino Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cícero Martins came out of the goal and Adelino Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 90 minutes, Dráusio Lopez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cananea and the 1981 Immortals players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Dráusio Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When César Domingues was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Cananea's César Domingues got a free kick in the 94th minute. 1981 Immortals's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
